If the World Were a Stage...

If the world were a stage, the Cluff's would be the jesters. This past weekend, we had our Cluff Family Thanskgiving up the canyon at the Mutual Dell Lodge. We all met up there at around 2 okay, some 3....and we ate a yummy Thanksgiving Dinner. As you can see in the pic, the guys are all gathered around the "meat" table, supposedly "carving" the meat...hmmm....they were if you count, "one for them, one for me," they all had their mouths full of turkey and ham! After dinner we played a bunch of games...not just board games, but group games. It was really fun to all play together. We started out playing "rollercoaster," which is childish and simply immature...and so hilarious. If anyone we tell people to pretend they are on the best rollercoaster of their lives. They have to act it out....as they are picturing themselves on the funnest rollercoaster of all times, we are picturing them on the pot. It is as childish as you can get, but you will laugh your head off and even cry a few tears from the silliness of it all. Next we played cops and mafia....which was a feat in itself for this crew. We played that a few times then played muscial chairs, then we played a "signing" game where you everyone has their own signs and you must remember them....one person stands in the middle and you try to pass the signs around without them seeing who has it. If they guess, they get to trade places....whether it makes sense or not, it is so much fun. My brother and sister in law, Brady and Allyssa, who are acutally deaf and sign all the time, find it funny that us "hearing" people get such a kick out of that game...but they actually had fun too playing. They were of course, a thousand time better at it than the rest of us. :) We all messed around, played many other games and just had a good ole time. It was the best time we have had in awhile I think.

A Weekend of Fun!

Saturday night we went to see High School Musical on Ice, it was so much fun! The girls had a great time. At first it was a little too loud for them, of course, but they got used to it.



The first act was HSM 1, then the second act was HSM 2. It was really neat to watch them incorporate the movie into ice skating. There were really good, and the dance moves were really quite similiar. It was fun. Maybe I enjoyed it more than the girls...not sure.... My sister asked me what were they doing, how did they like it, I said, "Good I guess, I wasn't paying attention, I was trying to watch the show!" At one point towards the end, Mia kept bugging me to do something, I kept saying "watch the show!" I couldn't take my eyes off it...it was super fun. I am a big kid at heart, what can I say. A teeny bopper some say....but I still have fun. :)




After Our fun at High School Muscial, we also put up our Christmas Tree and decorated the house. :) It was fun, although short, because we don't have much. But it was fun to put it up in our new house, and see how it all looks. We also have taken on putting lights up on the outside of the house. Another fun task, at least for me. I am too scared to get on the roof, so Nelson has to do them all, which is A LOT. We looked all over town for the white bulbs I wanted for the outside of the house, and apparently everyone else in Utah wants them too, because no store around here has anymore. So someone suggested some different bulbs to me and we put up one strand to see if they would look good.:)


It was quite fun to see lights on our house. Even if for now, just one strand. We need 11 to cover the house....wooh..and each strand has about 100 lights on them....what a good sport Nelson is. :) But luckily we did like them and they will look good when they are all up. :) I can't wait. :)

Being Thankful!

I have a lot to be thankful for this time of year. Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of every day we are so busy we don't have time to remember all the blessings we have in our lives. As for me, I am too worried about cleaning my house, folding laundry, doing the dishes, mopping the floors, and paying bills that I forget to appreciate the greatest blessings I have, my husband and my children. Everyday is full of chaos and busy lives, and we seldom seem to really take time for each other except on Monday, when we are asked to. I often wonder why we, people in general, are so apt to take on more than we can handle. Why do we constantly want more things to do, more things to keep us busy. Why is it at noon, I am still not dressed, my house still isn't clean, the girls' hair is still not fixed, and I am already overwhelmed for the day? I wish is was because I was reading books all morning to the girls and playing, that the day slipped away from us. But it usually is just that by the time I exercised and showered, made breakfast, straighten the house, not cleaned it, but straightened, made lunch, somehow got the girls out of the clothes they dressed themselves in and into some that match....it is noon and we are still not ready....no one's hair is fixed, and even in the corners of the house are unfolded laundry, toys, books,and who knows what else. What is my point? Even in my everyday frustration and list of chores and things to do, I am still so thankful that I have dirty laundry to wash, clean laundry to fold, four little heads of hair to fix in some way each morning...or afternoon...even sometimes evening :) Yes, for those of you who seem for some reason to think that my kids are always dressed, fixed up, and pretty...the truth- somehow you have been deceived, they are not always perfectly dressed and ready for the day. I am glad I have a husband who can come home and appreciate even the little "straightening" that I have done...Who works hard and runs his own business to help make ends meet. I am thankful I can say my prayers each night and try to be a better wife and mom the next day. I am thankful for forgiving little spirits , and one big one, who love their mom (and wife) no matter what she does, and who can only remember the good stuff. In the end, the most important thing is that we are raising our children righteously and preparing them for the eternities, rather than sweating the small things like house work. In the end, it is really just the "good stuff" that matters. May we all have more of the "good stuff" this week as we reflect on the blessing in our lives. For they truly are innumerable.

Latest Discovery

If you haven't talked to my sister-inlaw Jackie, then you don't know how good this movie is. She has already seen it 3 times. We went and saw it last night and it was really good. It was surprisingly good, there hasn't been any good movies out in awhile, and I enjoyed this one. I actually had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. :) It is a must see if you need a good laugh.

Blogger Retarded...

I have played around and played around with this thing trying to get a nice page like many of my friends and relatives have....I am apparently stupid...because I have spent way too many hours trying to figure it out, when it comes down to it, I think I have to have a scrapbook program on my computer....still not positive. Wooh....if anyone has any ideas or tips for me....that would be great.....I am past the point of frustration...although pretty proud of my super huge header...hehe.

A Whirlwind of a Week

Well, this past week has been crazy to say the least. It started with us finding out we were going to Texas. So I packed and got ready at the beginning of last week,then Halloween was Wed. Jayda dressed up as a fairy, Halle was little Red Riding Hood, and Mia was Dee Dee from the Doodle Bops.:) We had a lot of fun, the girls trick or treated and got lots of candy! We didn't stay out too late, because Thursday morning we were up by 5am to leave for Texas. The girls were so excited to fly on a plane. It was really fun. On friday my mom drove to my Dad's house and we played games and of course bought the girls toys at Target. Friday night we all went out to dinner with my Best Friend from High School, Kim, and her husband and family. We also met our old family friend Texie and her family for dinner. It was a super fun night.




Saturday we woke up early and went to the temple with my Aunt and Uncle. It was a great blessing for me to escort my Aunt through the temple. Nelson escorted my Uncle and we were both there for their sealing to each other and their sealing to their parents. What more can I say, a lot of people were rejoicing that day, on both sides of the veil.




Saturday Night we visited some of my best friends from College, Olivia, her husband Josh, and their family. Olivia was my escort in the temple. Her family and I are very close and we spent a lot of time together in college. She has five boys....:) She drove all the way from Dallas to see me. I hadn't seen her for over 7 years, it was a great reunion for all of us. We met together at her brother Malcham's house and even had a reunion with a missionary that served with us in Stephenville. It was so much fun to see old friends.




On Sunday, we went to my Aunt Oddlee's House. (She is my Mom's Aunt). We drove two hours to see her and many of my cousins who we haven't seen in many years. It was the first time for most of them to see our girls. It was a lot fun. We had a great time this past weekend. We ate a lot of good homecooking...and I mean a lot. I gained 4 pounds! Hehe...well, it was a great 4 pounds. We are home now and life is back to normal...as normal as it can be I suppose. We are ready for the great holidays and for the time we can spend with our family here.

Is My Tag Hanging Out?

I have been tagged...I read about it on one of my friends' sites for the first time the other day, and then bam...Lori, who is always just one more step ahead of the rest tagged me. :) Thanks! :) It is kind of fun...I learned more about you in those 6 facts than in 6 years. :) HeHe.Here are the rules. :)

Now about me...hmmmmm...I think most people know about me, I am very vocal. But here are a few things....maybe you didn't....

* I am very obsessive compulsive about my house being clean. You wouldn't know it, because it very often isnt...but I can't sit down, relax, or watch tv or anything, unless it is in perfect order....I am so uptight until I have it clean....it really bugs me. Mostly because it isn't usually clean to my liking, thus...I am not so nice to live with. :) Sorry Nelson! (He knows this is a problem)

* Here is a shocker....when I was little, I was very shy. Ha! I remember having to play a part in a show for parents in Kindergarten and I was a snake charmer. I went first in the show and I was so nervous all day and scared to death....I hated performing.....

* On the opposite side of that....when I got older, I always wanted to go into acting. :) I was in many plays in school and even auditioned for some TV shows. I was one of 8 people from thousands who auditioned for a show called "Rockets kids jam" (Hence Houston Rockets).....I obviously didn't get it, but the people seemed to think those of us who were called back were the "cream of the crop and wouldn't have a problem getting a job somewhere else" Ha! Am I famous? Maybe in smaller circles. :) He he

*I was valedictorian of my 8th grade class....yeah, we were all shocked!

* Not only with my aspiring goals to be an actress, I was also interested in broadcasting...(this was before I applied to law school...hehe) I was an broadcaster for a local cable television show near my college town. I doubt anyone watched it, even I cringe looking at the episodes I have recorded on tape. (don't ever ask to see them, I wouldn't put anyone through the embarrassment)

*My List of Famous People...these are the people I have been privileged to meet in my short liftime.......Clay Walker, Chris LeDoux, Kay Bailey Hutchison, Ty Murray, and George Bush...yes, the current President...although he was only Governor of Texas when I met him. :) He is truly a nice, down to earth man!
