Halloween

Per the usual, we went to the school to watch the Elementary Costume Parade, it was fun to see the kids dressed up and walk around in their classes!

This year we also had another great Halloween party! Despite sickness attempting to rain on our parade (and actual rain) it turned out great. The weather was perfect, not too cold, and it was so beautiful. The leaves were all colors and everywhere. I kept thinking it felt just like in the movies. It was gorgeous. We had some friends over and all the missionaries in our ward (6) over for dinner and then the families went trick or treating. It was fun to decorate and make food this year. I had lots of great ideas off different place on the internet so it was fun to see them all turn out. We had a good time!

Pumpkin Painting/ Carving

Each year we usually paint pumpkins, it is easier with so many little ones. But for the first time this year we had some that wanted to carve...so we did. :) It was fun to see their faces and how they scooped out the pumpkin goo. :) We also baked some yummy pumpkin seeds.

Always fun! :)

Trunk or Treat

Every year our church does a trunk or treat Halloween Party. We have dinner, the kids play games, then trick or treat from "trunks." It is fun and a great way to get good use out of our Halloween costumes. The last two years we have let the kids bring a friend...yep....double our forces. This year, because we had the twins, we had to drive two cars. :) But the kids have fun and so do there friends. :) We had a great time!

 

 

 

 

Apple Races

Today was the apple races at school. Such a sad event for most...the kids all dread it and some cry or beg to not go to school, others freak out when they can't breathe after running, others don't care and walk, others try to beat their previous time....or perhaps don't want to disappoint parents and teachers....oh the pressure for those little legs to run 650 yards! It is far!

There are always those that naturally are runners that sprint the whole thing...not to be confused with the beginning of the race when EVERYONE is sprinting for the first 100 yards then quickly die off..:)

Of course my girls fit into a few of these categories, but they always do great. They are great runners. Not the fastest at distance, but set a good pace and don't kill themselves trying to do what they can't, or aren't trained to do. I was proud watching them do something that they are required to do, even though it may not be fun and even though they may be apprehensive due to pressure and time. Life is full of doing hard things. I am glad they are already to starting to conquer..even in Elementary!

They all did mom and dad proud! Great job girls! It was a cold one there today!

Jayda's 11th Birthday!

My 1st baby turned 11 today!

 

Time flies so fast!

 

Jayda is having a party with her friends on Monday, but today she got to have lunch with Dad, he took her Arby's. Since it is Wednesday, she has gymnastics fro 4:30-7:30, so she went right there after school...and took chocolate covered rice krispie treats to share.

 

Then we finished the night off at the Texas Roadhouse.

Where we had to of course, embarrass the birthday girl! :)

PS She did open some presents today, and she got Percy Jackson book Series, a bag of skittles (upon request), a new gymnastics charm for her bracelet from Auntie Angie, an electronic Monopoly (upon request) from Grandpa Martinez, money from Nana and Grandma Cluff, and a Peace Love World Jacket from Alina! She made out like a bandit!

 

 

 

 

Apple Picking

Today the kids had half a day of school, so we went apple picking, which was long over due. Of course we are apple snobs and only picked Honeycrisp, we tried others, but they just weren't as good. :)
