Today was a fun day for us. It was the Fall Festival at Jayda and Halle's school. So we dressed up in our Halloween gear and headed over at 11am for the festivities. Everything there was free, so that was nice. We started with our family photo. Then we let the girls "bob" or "grab" really...for apples..."yay! Everyone was a winner!" :) Then they tossed apples in baskets. Again....everyone a winner. :) After that, we headed over to the air slide, which was too crowded with parents not watching their children. A bunch of kids were being super rowdy and not really letting other kids through to slide....so we only did that once.... After the over-rated slide, we got to paint ceramic pumpkins, then took a fun hayride around the school.:) It was fun for the girls and Nelson and I had a good timet too. Halle Mia Sienna Jayda
Later I came home to do my last baking for the week, and possibly for awhile. I made mini pumpkin bites (pies) for my lesson in Relief Society tomorrow. I, of course got the recipe from Bakerella...and it wasnt too hard, just very time consuming.... Anyways, now it is bedtime and I am pooped. We had a fun day, but now we must rest for the sabbath!
My friend Jamie and I were in charge of a presentation on Christmas treats and ideas for neighbor/ friend gifts. It was fun to do, but we both baked for about 3 days. We made all kinds of treats and decorated them for a table display. Plus we made extra for samples. I made mint truffles, the best chocolate chip cookies :), english toffee, and candied popcorn. She made peppermint brownies, candied apples, cookie pops, and something I dont know the name of. :) (It was vanilla almond bark with crushed up candycanes and oreos in side....just broken into pieces...yum). Overall it was super cute and super fun. There was a big turn out and we raffled off all our decorated bags and gifts. Everyone loved our tasty treats and even though it was lots of fun....wooh! We are glad it is over. :) Here are a few pics of my stuff....she took a pic of the tables....I will upload later when I get a copy.
My little Ryder is getting so big, I can hardly believe it. It makes me sad how fast time passes. We've gotten some cute pics of him lately, and I wanted to post them. He is so fun. He has such a happy personality. He thoroughly enjoys being nursed, and could care less for real food. I have tried to feed him a few times and he usually ends up puking it all up...he just likes his milk! Although he certainly eyes us eating and especially eyes our drinks :) He has a smile that will melt anyone's heart! He is such a sweet baby boy. He loves to touch his toes and just last week discovered he can make his arms and hands move when he wants. I included a cute picture of him holding his toes (and he is asleep!) :) He is so cute and cudly. Where has the time gone. I just cant hug and kiss him enough. His hair is starting to come in on top....some peach fuzz...it is so cute. :) He is such a little man.
Today is Jayda's 7th Birthday...I can't beleive it. It makes me sad....when did she get so old? We are planning on going to Grandma and Grandpa Cluff's today so we arent doing too much here. So I wanted to make sure she woke up and felt special. last night we decorated her room and around her bed with crepe paper. :) She was suprised when she woke up.
Then we made Chocolate Pumpkin Muffins with Chocolate Chips for breakfast! Yum (Recipe at bottom of post).
She opened one present...to wear to school today...the shorts...
She is becoming fashion aware..notice I did not say fashion "saavy," her comments this morning when she opened the shorts were, "oh, I can wear those on crazy day!" :) Ha! I said, "Jayda, these are really cute..." I think she finally warmed up to them...and she was adorable!.
Here is a picture of her cake....she wanted a pumpkin and specifically wanted it orange and purple...I did my best to "spiffy" it up a bit. :) She hasnt seen it yet...hope she likes it. :)
We are going to College Station tonight and having her a "party" if you will, at Gattitown. It is like Chuck E Cheese, but a little better, if you ask me. There is a big buffet of pizza, salad, soup, pasta, and then games and stuff. It is super fun and an added bonus...kids eat free on fridays. :) Happy BIRTHING...to me! :) Nana and Bill are coming too and we are staying the night and then going to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs tomorrow. To add to the mix...today is early out at school...so that is an added birthday bonus. I think she will have a great birthday and we will post more pictures to this same post...after we get back. :)
Recipe for yummy muffins...
1 box of chocolate cake mix 15 oz canned pumpkin 2 eggs 2 tbs applesauce (or oil) 1/3 cup of milk 1/2 bag choc chips
mix, bake at 350 for 20 minutes. yum. Makes about 18 muffins :) Enjoy

Saturday, we went to a pumpkin patch and went and saw "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs!" Super cute movie! We loved it.:) It was a fun weekend!

Well, we have had a bit of sugar shock here this last week. I was making a baby shower cake for my friend. Her sister in law is having a boy, and it is a pumpkin theme. I think it turned out pretty cute.
By the Way, the cake was for a chocolate lover! Chocolate cake, chocolate frosting, chocolate pudding with chunks of chocolate candy bar. :) Yum!
Also, we have started making crepes around here! The girls love them, and I just found a good healthy recipe, so I like them too.
Here is the recipe:
1/2 cup whole wheat flour 2 egg white 1/2 cup fat free milk 1 pinch of salt 1 tbs apple sauce
Mix together good, then pour 1/4 cup of batter onto hot griddle and spread around for crepe. (lift pan and let it roll around). Fill with whatever you want.:) Yum! We filled it with strawberries, bananas, fat free cool whip, nutella, and a dash of powdered sugar!
My dad is obsessed with the game, Settlers of Catan. Most of you know it, and have had your own phase of "obsession" before. Today is his birthday, and this is the cake we made him. It was a big hit, and delicious. :) I wish we could have made it more realistic, but this is as realistic as it gets with 5 kids in a small house and no time to be artistic. Overall, I still liked it, but lets face it, I am no Cake Boss!
Now that he is getting a little bigger and can hold his head up better, now he rotates stations through out the day. :) He likes to facing up and not laying down all the time...this way he can see what is going on. He hasn't figured out the jumping part yet, but he will very quickly I am sure! :) My cute chunky monkey!!!
