Cinco De Mayo

Ole! Today was Cinco de Mayo! My sister-in Law Jackie,(pictured on farthest left) served a mission in Chile, so we had a big "Fiesta" if you will at her house tonight! Her and her friends were extra festive....and the rest of us were just extra hungry! :) We have yummy taco, burritos, beans, chips, dips, etc. It was delicious! The kids lined up for a pinata filled with candy! They each got one whack at it, and that was all the little horsie could take! Although it may just have seen Jackie and decided to split! haha. Ole!

Skating Extravaganza!

On Saturday, my nephew Josh, had a birthday party at the skating rink. Mind you, I have been skating since I was two, but haven't done it since I was about 12! I walked into a time machine and flashed back to the retro skating, dancing, and limbo I grew up with. The only difference? Half the kids are on scooters now instead of skates. It was Jayda, Halle, and Mia's first time to attempt skating. The number of times they fell is too big to count, but they loved it! They didn't get the hang of it on their first try, but they loved it! Nelson and I couldn't "drag" them around the rink enough times. They couldn't seem to move their feet, they just wanted to be dragged around, it seemed more fun I guess! I was going to push Sienna around the rink in her stroller, but she slept the entire time! Nelson, Benson, Alyssa, Brady, and I skated....and let me tell you....I am old. My ankle hurt, from a sprained ankle over a month ago....we old folks just don't heal as fast....my knee was hurting, and the plastic skates did nothing to help. It was still fun, but I felt quite out of it. I couldn't skate as "cool" as I did when I was younger...I didn't even attempt to skate backwards.....although I used to be a pro. We skated to a little Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, and a few others....but was disappointed to miss the "couples skate! " :) It was super fun, and I guess my girls will need a little practice before they will be up and running or should I say rolling!

Made of Laughs

On Friday Night I went and saw Made of Honor with Patrick Demsey. It was acutally less like "My Best Friend's Wedding" than I expected and quite funny. I really liked it, although there are a few questionable parts. It was really funny, very entertaining, and I probably wouldn't mind seeing it again!

I love to see the temple!

Every year we take our kids to Mt. Timpanogos Temple and take their pictures by the tulips. Today, I took them to get a few pictures, since the temple is closed on Monday. Unfortunately, we were in a hurry, and also the memory card on my camera was full...so we didn't get the best pics, or at least close to what we usually get, but they are still cute enough to post. Each picture shows their own personality...boy are they stinkers! I only took a couple of pictures of each of them...you can see for yourself the results. :) Sienna, didn't want to have anything to do with the pictures, she couldn't figure out why the grass was poking her leg and just kept one foot up in the air most of the time...I wish I would have gotten a pic of that! I have a picture of Jayda, Halle, and Mia looking at the temple from about 2 years ago. So Mia was just a baby. I wanted to retake the picture today with Sienna, but I didn't have Nelson to help, so we had to improvise and have Jayda put her arm around Sienna, I don't know what I think, we may retake it later, but for now, it is still cute enough to post. :) We are blessed enough to drive by the temple almost daily, so the girls know about the temple, and Moroni on the top. We always make sure they understand it is Heavenly Father's house. So as we are leaving, Mia says, " I want to see Heavenly Father!" She was so serious and almost whiney about it, I just wanted to scoop her up and hug her to death. I know Heavenly Father was just trying hard not to show himself to her then, any parent would have been...she was too cute and sincere to resist. Oh the faith of our children.

The Official Report

Okay, so the official report is in. It was pretty entertaining. I enjoyed it and even laughed a few times. :) It wasn't as dirty as I thought Tina Fey and Amy Poehler could be, so that was good. A lot of the funny scenes I had already seen on the previews, but there were still a few I hadn't. I just love those girls, they are too funny...so it was entertaining and not too terribly distasteful. Not nearly as entertaining as their many characters on SNL, but really, can we even compare? Who's your baby mama? By the way, Amy Poehler, looked a little bit like me when I am pregnant, with that Big Gulp in her hand. :) He he. Her fave is Dr. Pepper, I usually stick to the not so hard stuff....diet caffiene free Coke! ;)

Baby Mama!

Okay, so I am so excited to go see this movie tomorrow night when it comes out. It is only rated PG-13....but funny enough, the movie theatre states that no-one under 21 is allowed to see it...and no babies or children...hmmmm...interesting. Well, I shall go see it tomorrow night for everyone and report back to tell you if it is worth the money. And not too trashy of course. I love Saturday Night Live....most of the time...sometimes we have to change the channel when it is out of hand, but Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hilarious...so I hope I won't be too disappointed tomorrow...by the way, we are going to Thanksgiving point to the 7:30 showing if anyone wants to join us...again...I can't be held responsible if it is a big flop and distasteful...I can only report after I have seen it!

A Grand 'Ole Time

Well, we arrived home from our trip to Texas last Wednesday. It was very fun. We went to my dad's house on Wednesday and of course the first thing we did was go grocery shopping for diet coke, Blue Bell Icecream (because its the best ice cream in the country!), and all the other necessities. My dad moved to a new house, which is very nice, and has lots of room! On Thursday we met one of my high school friends, Martha, for lunch at where else...The Olive Garden.
I haven't seen her for 13 years! It seems crazy to say 13 years, but it is true...I graduated in 1995! I am soooo old! It was fun to see her. She is still as beautiful as she was at 18! On Friday, we went to the IHOP for breakfast with my cousin, before she left to help her sister with the wedding. My cousin Becky, who lives in Indiana came with her 3 girls!!!! Sydney, Emmerson, and Anniston. You probably can guess how much their girls and mine got along. They loved each other. Oh how I wish they lived closer. Then later that day my friend, Erica, from College drove to Houston from College Station to see us. She was one of my greatest friends in College, and also my sorority sister in Delta Zeta! Woohoo! :)
She lives in College Station with her hubby and three kids. She has twins, who are adorable! As is Jackson, the oldest! The kids had such a great time playing together. Her twins are Allison and Mason. Allison loved me of course...what girls wouldn't? I know how to take care of girls! :) It was fun to play with her, she couldn't get enough of me and my bracelets and earrings. :) We had a good afternoon visit, and it was so fun to see her, since we haven't seen each other for 9 years! Yes, I am old....I know, I graduated college 9 years ago....good grief..time flies. On Saturday, we drove 2 hours to Orange, Texas....to my cousins' wedding. It was so much fun to see her happy, and see family we haven't seen in so many years. The wedding was lots of food and dancing....talk about feeling old. I couldn't even remember how to do the Macarena! My cousin Christie looked beautiful, and her wedding was so much fun. The girls danced the entired night with all of their cousins! Sunday, we celebrated my Sister's birthday at the Bowling Alley. It was sooo much fun. Probably more fun than usual because it was Sunday....just kidding. But we had a lot of family come and we bowled for 3 hours. The girls couldn't get enough. I even bowled a strike with Sienna on my hip....:) It was my only strike! I baked my sister a lovely cake of course. :) That was a challenge baking it in Houston, making the pudding, and icing, and then taking it to Orange and putting it together in the hotel...I felt like Duff off Ace of Cakes. :) But I was glad to make her a cake. It was fun. Then Sunday night we went to a yummy Mexican restaurant for her birthday and dinner! I think she had a great birthday. Everyone else enjoyed it too! Monday we drove 2 1/2 more hours to Nacogdoches, Texas (The oldest town in texas) to prepare for my mom's wedding on Tuesday. We went to the rehearsal....then went to dinner at "The Cotton Patch!" Yum! Chicken fried Chicken...oh my goodness....It was so delicious, and the cheese fries...wow!
Tuesday, we got my mom's hair and makeup all ready, and although Jayda had a high fever, got the girls' dressed and flew up to the church. Her ward took such good care of her...what a blessing...they made her a great cake....decorated the church so beautifully, made all the food...it was amazing. My sister and I were bridesmaids, Mia and Halle were flower girls, and Jayda was the ring girl. We walked into the chapel Me, my sister, then Mia, Halle, and Jayda. Mia was suppose to throw her flowers on the floor, and by the time she got 3/4 of the way to the front...she hadn't dropped any and Nelson was there, he told her to throw the flowers....so she threw the entire basket! It was hilarious...I couldn't stop laughing! It was a beautiful ceremony and my mom looked beautiful. She is so happy! I am happy for her. We had so much fun. We were so happy to see everyone and visit...and of course to eat great food. :) I gained 4 pounds! But I loved every bite! It was so much fun, and I am waiting for my sister to send me all her pics of my mom's wedding, but I have added the slide show so you can see all the pics of everything...if you didn't get enough! :)

Texas Bound!

Well, this week is our much anticipated trip to Texas. We are so excited to go see Grandpa, Nana, Bill, Auntie Angie, Christie, Becky, Aunt Bye, Uncle Donnie, and the list goes on. We will be attending two weddings! Yes, two! My cousin Christie is getting married Saturday in Orange, and then my mom is getting married Tuesday in Nacogdoches. We have a fun filled trip planned to see everyone and it will be a big family reunion for us. We haven't seen my cousin Becky since we lived in Missouri and she lived in Chicago. That was 7 years ago! Becky has 3 girls, so I know my girls will have so much fun playing with them. It is also my sister's Birthday to which we are going to have a bowling party, and I of course, am going to whip her up an easy cake. It will be so much fun. We are leaving on Wed. and coming back the following Wed. The weather is in the 80's with a low of 60..yep. The low there is the high here. We are excited for the warm weather and Grandpa has moved to a new house with a pool...so we are ready for a nice swim. We will certianly post pictures for Ya'll when we come back!
