Well, we went to Disneyland last week, in California. It was super fun. We left on Monday and with a change of last minute plans, drove straight to California after leaving home at 4pm. It was actually a super fast trip and the girls did really well. I am sure it went by so fast because we were so excited to be there and see my sister "Auntie Angie" and Michael (my cousin). We arrived at about 12:30 Cali time. We had a 3-day park hopper ticket, so we chose to go Tues, Thur, and Sat. Which let me tell you was a fabulous idea. We needed the days in between to rest and give our legs a break. Tuesday we went to Disneyland and had a ton of fun. The first thing we did, was go into a store and my sister bought them ears or hat. As you can see in the pictures, Halle decided on a hat...rather funny....but cute. Also, on a side note, all the shirts they are wearing are from Auntie Angie too...plus mine and Nelson's. :) She spoils us. Tues. night we ate dinner at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. And as it was Mia's birthday "week" if you will, she was sure to celebrate at every place we ate. And she did, as you can see in the pictures. Everyday until Friday was her birthday, it was rather fun! Free dessert everywhere (as if we needed it). You know no-one eats healthy, good, light, or little on a vacation. Wednesday, we shopped a lot, mostly at Target and Wal-mart, their Auntie Angie likes to spoil them and she bought them new nightgowns, flip flops, whatever they wanted. We also went swimming, then ate dinner at "On the Border" a mexican restaurant which is oh so yummy. Thursday we went back to Disneyland, and actually spent most of the day at Cali. Adventure. The girls had so much fun there, it seems more geared towards their age. We happen to hit everything just right and didn't have to wait in long lines or anything. We also had lunch with the Princesses at Ariel's Groto. Not only was the food the best we had had so far, the girls had so much fun meeting all the princesses. Again, we did this to celebrate Mia's Birthday :). It was a great day. Friday, which was actually Mia's birthday was fun too. She woke up first and opened her presents in our hotel. Then we went bowling at a rather nice bowling alley, where Halle seriously kicked all our butts! The we took her to the grocery store to pick out a cake...which goes against all I stand for these days, but it felt so easy. :) I told her she could pick out whatever she wanted, but when she picked a nasty white cake with white nasty frosting and a big rainbow on the top, I had to draw the line. I talked and talked until I convinced her otherwise, and we luckily ended up with a very tasty cookie cake...it was super delicious really. We took our cake to where else but "The Olive Garden." Again, we sang her "Happy Birthday!" and then she finally felt 3! All week she kept asking for her cake. And in her mind, she wasn't 3 until she had her cake. It didn't matter all the other things at restaurants and such...she truly didn't believe she was 3 until after she blew out her candle. She was so cute. After lunch, which was really 2pm, Nelson and I had to go to my friend's wedding in Long Beach, so we left Angie and the girls at the hotel to play, eat, and watch the new Cheetah Girls movie "One World!" My friend Margie (my trainer on my mission, and one of my own bridesmaids) was getting married and we went to her beautiful wedding! She was so gorgeous as you can see in the pictures! Saturday we went back to Disneyland and California Adventure for our last day. It was a fun day, and by far the longest. We knew it was our last day and for some reason, no matter how tired you are or how bad your legs hurt, you just can seem to leave. We had so much fun, and I think the girls did too. Sunday was a long drive home, but it was worth it for all the fun we had. It was a great family vacation. We met lots of characters (which my girls are usually scared of) but Auntie Angie insisted and it turned out well. We took pictures with all the princesses, Eyore, Pooh, Handy Manny, Pluto, and who knows what other ones. My sister took a lot of pictures on her camera that I didn't get, so the slide show is only my pictures, but you get the gist. It was fun. The girls' favorite ride was Toy Story,the new ride, which involved no fast passes and for sure at least a 45 minute wait, but it was always worth it. Jayda was tall enough to ride a few more rides this trip, and even Halle. Jayda loved the Mouse trap ride, and rode with her hands up the entire ride. :) She rode it 3 or 4 times I think. Halle had fun with Michael. She took to him like glue on paper, literally. He couldn't put her down, he was her personal taxi around all of Disney. He said he couldn't figure out why he didn't get a sunburn on the back of his neck like usual, then realized it was because Halle was hanging there the entire time. haha. What a fun time. We haven't gone for two years, and it may be 3 or 4 before we go again, but it is such a fun place for family.
