Since Nelson and I do not live near either one of our mother's, we spent this mother's day with our friends. The day started with presents in bed from the girls. Pictures they drew, a card, a candy bar (just what I need :), and some cash. :) Yep, cash, for earrings I want, but they couldn't find. :) Ha! Nelson is getting me a pedicure later in the week, so I will have pretty toes when Ryder comes next week. :) We got dressed, went to church, and came home and had a great lunch outside with our friends Maile, Cliff, Camille, and Griffin. Nelson cleaned up, and even mopped and swept the floor for me this go round. We talked to both of our mother's a few other relatives and my grandmother. It was a great day. In the end, I felt loved, and loved all the gifts and things the girls made for me. But really, it isnt about one day. Its about every day. That is why I love this quote.
Happy Mother's Day to Everyone! Esp. my mom who is the best mom in the entire world and my mother in law who is so very special! Next year, maybe we can all be together. :)
"Mother's Who Know Do Less"
Mothers who know do less. They permit less of what will not bear good fruit eternally. They allow less media in their homes, less distraction, less activity that draws their children away from their home. Mothers who know are willing to live on less and consume less of the world's goods in order to spend more time with their children-more time eating together, more time working together, more time reading together, more time talking, laughing, singing, and exemplifying. These mothers choose carefully and do not try to choose it all. Their goal is to prepare a rising generation for children who will take the gospel of Jesus Chrsit into the entire world. Their goals is to prepare future fathers and mothers who will be builders of the Lord's kindgom for the next 50 years. That is influence, that is power.
