Crazy Hair & Hat Day!

Today was Crazy Hair and Hat day at Jayda's school, so being the good sport she is, she dressed up! Oh what fun it is! :)

Pretty Bird!

Our new renters downstairs, Jenny and Jordan, have a parrot. Jenny brought her up to show the girls....of course Halle and Mia wouldn't have anything to do with her, but Sienna has no fear. She kept trying to pull it's tail.. we were afraid it would bite her. She loved it! :)(Jayda was at school!)

Politics & Opinions

Well, I have been thinking a lot about all these "politics" we are exposed to, especially right before an election. Since I have a degree in Political Science, I of course take an interest in politics. I have friends that are on both sides of the board. As for myself. I just fit in the middle. I get tired of the dirt slinging between candidates, all their employees who want to work in the white house, and all their followers. The truth of the matter is....it's all a bunch of crap. In the end....what matters is what will happen to me and my family when the next president takes office. I could give a rip about if Obama replaced a flag on his plane or even if he didn't. If I supported him, it wouldn't matter. Him not having experience wouldn't matter either. Who cares who has more experience? I don't. Is it really that important? Great people can do great things without having done them before. It happens everyday. I like Sarah Palin a lot, and I think it is great she has experience, but I am not voting for her because of that. That is jut a bonus if she becomes the next VP. I am not voting for her because she is a woman either. I think it is great that history will be changed whether Obama or McCain win. That is great progress in America. And yet, what progress have we made in choosing and electing our officials? None, we seems to be regressing. Why must people demean others to win something? Do they think we as voters will choose who to vote for according to those shallow remarks, unimportant and un-related to our "well-being" issues? Maybe some people do...Whether Obama has a flag on his plane makes no difference in whether I will be able to afford my house next year, or my husband's business will still be operating. Who I choose is based on my opinion of what I want for my family and the future of this country. I choose freedom. I choose safety and comfort. I choose someone who, to me, seems like me. Let's get this straight...not McCain. Palin. If we can't have a great President...then lets have a great Vice President. What do I know about her. I know she is a great Governor of Alaska. I know she has done great things for them. I have a sister in law that lives there and swears by her. As well as many other people. Yes, of course there will be people who live there who don't, and that's okay. That is why we are American. We can choose. I have made my choice. I know why. I couldn't care about anything else. People twist facts, lies, and anything they can to get what they want. Things about people on both sides. Is it important? Somethings are, some things are not. Decide what is important to you, and choose. Honestly, though some may believe....the world will not come to an end when the next President is chosen. We may be happy or we may be sad...but both Presidents, I truly believe, are fighting for this country to do well. They both want America to be great. We can all trust in that. Why don't we build on common beliefs instead of tearing each other down. Agree to disagree...because that is what makes us different. That is what makes us America. Then cast our vote..hope it goes our way, and live with the results regardless. Life will go on. We make our own lives better by just believing in and fighting for a cause. Sometimes we may not get what we want, but in the end, there is something greater, more important than anything else that will bring us peace with no matter what the outcome. God Bless America.

Flowers

Here is a picture of my flowers on the front of my house. I am so proud of them. I don't keep up too well on the other gardens around the house, there are too many....but at least I can do this right. :) After I watered my flowers and decided to take a picture, I took Mia out to take her picture. Usually I try to take their birthday pictures myself....and they often do not cooperate. A couple of weeks ago I dressed Sienna up and took her outside and to no avail. She wouldn't give me a good picture. But today, by sheer coincidence, Mia was dressed cute and she took some good pictures for me. :)

Downhill Politics

Okay, so I have to say....I have recieved many emails about signing petitions and forwarding them...do they ever go anywhere? Does anyone ever get them? Who really knows. This last one is a piece of work. Read as follows:

Okay, so add your name, forward on....oh and by the way..."The 1000th person, please email to comments@whitehouse.gov"....is that a real address? Seriously? Do you think they have an email...and if they did, wouldn't it be flooded everyday with all the "crazies" who have their own opinions? What is our country coming to... people think they can make a difference by forwarding emails. Honestly! If someone wants to make a difference, go vote. Get involved....find out who your representative is in congress and voice your opinion. That is why America has given in to crappy politics and even crappier politicians...no one wants to make an effort to get off their cans and obviously...get away from their computers and go change things. Don't get me wrong....maybe some of you are saying..."Well, I forwarded that email..." and that is okay, but people need to do more than just forward mail that may or may not get somewhere. This next Presidential Election is a big deal. Do people know who they want to vote for and why? Or will they just vote by email? Make a difference....turn off your computer!

A New Year of Gymnastics

This year Jayda, Halle, and Mia are all enrolled in Pleasant Grove Rec's gymastics. Mia, who had to watch last year, wasn't old enough, but it was tough. She could do all the things they could do...and some better than others. She was itching to walk on the beam...and did when she could run over and get the chance. But this time is was her turn...and she was sooooo excited! She did so good!


Jayda and Halle were both the pros of their classes. They all had so much fun and Mia can't stop asking everyday if today is gymastics.

And You can only imagine how fun it was contain Sienna this year. No more car seat for her to sit in I guess....

Paint and Patches

This was an eventful weekend in our household. Saturday mostly. We planned to paint the girls room pink...well it is now only Mia and Halle's room. We moved Jayda into Sienna's room, so they all have enough closet and drawer space....(can't wait til they are teenagers!!!)So we started painting the one room and we had pushed the beds together in the middle of the room, Sienna was playing on them and then she fell off, and basically bit through her lip. We ran her to the ER and ended up with 5 stiches. 2 on the inside and 3 on the outside. :( It was so sad...but she was so good and brave....my poor little baby. She isn't in pain or anything and is doing fine now, but it was sad.:(They had to strap her down in a little straight jacket thing and hold her head to give her numbing shots and sew her up. It was really sad. My poor baby girl! But she did so good.
So we finished painting the girls room. It turned out cute. We are going to put up some bat board and other stuff, so it is still a work in progress, but the pink looks cute. Jayda is enjoying being in her "real" bed that Nelson made for her when she was two. If any of you have been around that long, you know it is painted in the picture. Well, we did that too this weekend. Finally...after almost 4 years....yikes. But it looks nice now and she loves it.

My Dad's Visit

My Dad just visited us for four days! We had a great time! I wish I had taken more pictures, but for some reason I couldn't remember to! Friday my dad came in and we went to lunch at Wingers before taking Jayda to school. We came home and played a game with Maile, until he left for golfing with the "boys." (Nelson and his brothers). After dinner, we played more games (settlers, what else is there? ) Then Saturday came and Pam and Ben came over with Brady's kids and they all played outside in the water while we played other games....chicken foot, phase 10, farkle! We all ordered pizza, Nick and Corie came over and we played games a little longer. Then we watched "What Happens in Vegas!" Hilarious...if you haven't seen it. Sunday, we rested around the house, watched "Dan In Real Life" (another fantastic movie!), went to church, and showed our apartment to a few potential renters....(yes, our renter decided to tell us Friday she needed to move!) Anyone looking for a rental? Monday, my dad went with me to play basketball. I always play bball on Mondays and Fridays. He had a good time and got a few new bruises and aches and pains, but did well. :) We played some more settlers...of course...and then went to The Pie Pizzeria (the best pizza in the world :) for a "pre" Prison Break party with some of Nelson's family. Then we went to Pam and Ben's to watch the 2 hour premier on the big screen! It was so great! We had a good time with my dad visiting...we probably played 10 or 12 games of settlers all within 2 days....I won't say who won most of the games...most of you can guess. :) It was fun Daddy! Come again soon! :)
