Girls' Weekend - September 20-22nd!

Oh what fun it was to play....The last weekend of September was designated Girls' Weekend this year. All of the Cluff girls (sister in laws and originals) went to St. George for the weekend. The only kids allowed were the three newborns and one unborn. And the only boy was Brody, one of the babies. It was tons of fun. On the way down, we easily got there in a fast 6 hours. :) haha. It was fun, and the time flew by. Including our stop at Carol's house, and Teryaki Stix. We arrived at our "Presidential Suite" and oohed and ahhed at the fabulousness of it. We quickly assigned rooms, left for the Olive Garden to eat, and then came back for some heavy Bingo and chatting. :) We got up early the next morning and left the house at around 11. haha. We went for a little food and also a pedicure by the only two asians in St. George who happen to be doing everyone in St. George's feet at the same time. It was fun. We shopped all afternoon, ate some grub at Bajio before settling in for a night of "My Fair Lady," at Tuhacahn...oh wait did I say settling in...no, we went back, played more games, waxed all kinds of places, got in the hot tub and went to bed around ummm.. 4 am, at least some of us, the others were fast asleep unconscienciously listening to us confess our fun times in a fun little new game Jackie learned. :) Our last day we woke up, ran out the door, visited Carter and Lori's house, ate a little steak at the Texas Roadhouse and came home in the terrential rain storm. It was a fun weekend to spend together and we all agreed too short. :) Oh what fun it is to play....

Zippitee Doo Dah!

>Labor Day Weekend, we camped out at the Heber Valley Retreat, where we had the opportunity to do team building excericises and ride on the zip line. The zip line consisted of climbing up a fat telephone poll, where the pegs you climb on got further and further apart, then you get up to another telephone poll you are suppose to walk across by holding onto a string, "supposedly" harnessed to a twig of a lady on the ground....then you cross and sit, then "zip" off the platform. Well, sounds easier than it is. :) At least for some of us. As the first girl to go, I was terrified. I am scared of heights anyways, so there you have it. I got up there and my everything was shaking...thought I couldn't even walk, how was I going to cross that log? Nevertheless after many scowls and remarks from my "so called" supportive family, I finally crossed and let out a sigh of relief as I zipped off the platform, to another missionary worker telling me I would hit the oncoming poll...his own little joke for each of us. :) I was relieved to do it and be done for sure. As others went, they realized how high it "really" was and seemed to be shaking as well. And as for the little ones. Well, some of them walked across that tall log as if they do it everyday....and the tiny tots got to cheat and be hooked on, pulled up to the highest point, and then let go to zip right down. It was of course loads of fun, and we wished everyone could have been there to do it with us. :) Enjoy the show!

Compass Hardware

Compass Hardware is officially located in our backyard now! For those of you who aren't aware, Nelson started doing hardware (door, bath, and closet hardware, mirrors, and showerdoors) about three years ago on the side. He took a job doing it and has now started his own business. With the help of Chris and Benson (Kimball and Nick too) all his brothers, he has grown to be quite well off. It is getting bigger every day and more builders are contacting him than vice versa. We have turned our shop outside into the new Compass Hardware and KJMC headquarters. It is fun for us to see Nelson walk outside to work, although I am sure he is thining twice with the girls running out there every few minutes. :) And us too with Benson and Chris always coming in the house! :) Just kidding. We love it. The shop has a long 30 x 10 office space for Nelson and Kimball, and a table for customers, and a 20 x 10 showroom for Nelson's hardware. It looks great! We are excited for the new change and location of the business.

Talents of Plenty

Jayda and Halle started Gymnastics this week. They loved it. Jayda was like a natural. She learned how to do a cartwheel in June, with the help of her Auntie Angie, and was proud to show her teachers her accomplishments. You would have thought she has already taken gymnastics before. She loved the balance beam and the parallel bars. She jumped right on and flipped around (with a spot of course). I think they may have found something they will stick with for many years. We shall see.

Halle loved flipping and running. She took awhile to warm up, but when she did, she had a great time. She loved it and has quickly learned to do a few new things already.

Mia on the other hand, well she was a bit disapponted she had to be left out. (Not old enough) But she was determined to try anyways...I had a time of it keeping her off the mats and from doing it anyways. :) She is by far not the shy one of the family, and much like, Tracy Turnblad, is ready to take on the world, and dog gone it, the world is gonna love her!!! :)

Decorating Cakes

Last month, I had the opportunity to start cake decorating classes at Roberts Arts and Crafts. It was quite fun. I learned a lot, baked a lot, and never ate any I made. Nelson said it is like Charlize Theron on The Italian Job, she never looked in the safe once she opened it, well, I never eat the cake once I make it. But it is sure fun decorating and learning the tricks of the trade. Ahhh, who are we kidding, anyone can do, it is very easy!
