Cooperstown, NY

My dad has always wanted to visit Cooperstown, NY, where the Baseball Hall of Fame is. So we made sure we planned a day to go there. It was neat to see the museum and little town it is in.. but it was crowded! Also, not so much for little kids. Jace was excited for the first 10 minutes to see all the baseballs and bats in the cases, then the novelty wore off. :) Nevertheless, one more place to say we have been!

Later in the day, I took Sienna for a pedicure and manicure for her birthday! She really enjoyed it and it was so funny to see her reaction when they scrubbed her feet and legs! :) Haha! Papa Bill and Nana came in today also, and the kids were all excited to see them...and stayed up a wee bit too late!

Beginning of Sienna's Baptism and Birthday weekend!

Today Auntie Angie and Grandpa Martinez came in for Sienna's birthday/Baptism. We were so excited! We celebrated her birthday out with a dinner at The Cheesecake Factory! Then we went to the mall where Juliet and Jace got their Build a Bears from Auntie Angie! They had so much fun and love their  little Elsa and Doggie. (Those are their names) :) A fun start to a great weekend!

Field Day

Today was field day at school! The kids did great! (Ryder's is in June). It is fun to watch them compete with their friends...it isn't too serious, but a little good friendly competition!

Ryder's 6th Birthday!

Today Ryder turned 6! We had such a busy day scheduled with school and other things after school, we had to squeeze in a dinner at Applebees...which is the same place he had his birthday last year. At least we know he likes it! :) He also asked for an ice cream cake, that is a train...so that was fun to make.

He is going on Saturday to Fun plex with his friend Charlotte, from church, to celebrate his birthday. 

Happy Birthday my little angel boy! You are so much fun and so fun loving and calm. Your dimples melt my heart! 

Science Fair

This year Halle and Mia both did the science fair with friends. Oh the science fair.... most parents' worst nightmare..especially at the end of the school year when everything is so busy. Alas, we did them and the girls' did a good job!

Ryder's in the circus!

Today Kindergarten did a circus theme and show. They all dressed up and sang some songs about the circus, then had snacks and showed off their work! It was super cute and fun to watch Ryder! I can't beleive he is almost out of Kindergarten....where does the time go?

Kason's 4th Birthday

Today was Kason's birthday! He was so excited! We let him open up some presents this morning. He got a NY yankees hat, candy, and sunglasses from us, a remote control car from Nana...and later the got the rest of his paw patrol friends from Auntie Angie and Grandpa sent him a Paw Patrol lunch box. Since my ultrasound was scheduled for today, the plan was to take him with me to my ultrasound...so we left a little early and went to lunch at subway and then walmart where he picked out a guitar (from Grandma and Grandpa Cluff) with his gift card. He loved all of his presents! He came to the ultrasound and was such a good little boy. He just sat there quietly and watched, then when he got bored, he played on my phone. He got to listen to the baby's heartbeat and I think he thought that was pretty cool. :) As soon as the kids came home from school we went to the Roadhouse for dinner. As Kason said, "I want to ride a horse!" And he did, he wasn't embarrassed or anything, he couldn't wait. We finished the night off by coming home and having cake (power rangers) and ice cream! I think he had a great birthday and loved every second! He is such a cute kid with tons of energy but an equal amount of love to boot! Happy 5th Birthday Kason!!!

My Grandmother, Mia

 My 95 year old Grandmother passed away on Monday, April 27th. She was a fiesty, red head who never cared if she spoke her mind. She lived a long life and out lived her husband by more than 15 years, so hers, though sad for us, was a happy departure. I know the reunion taking place with her and her husband and family on that day was glorious.

I was so happy to have been able to facetime her the week before and let her know I love her and was thining of her. She wasn't able to talk by then, but she could see me and she blinked with understanding. I am grateful for that experience.

Nelson and I took a last minute trip to Miami for her funeral. It was a much needed vacation of sorts. We enjoyed seeing all of my dad's side of the family. For one short day (Wednesday) all of us were there for the first time probably in 20+ years.

The funeral was great and it was so nice to see family we haven't seen in awhile. We also, of course, enjoyed some delicious cuban food...because there is never a limit to cuban sandwiches!

The kids survived without us, barely....if you ask some of them. But it was nice to be able to go.
