2014 DC Stars Invitational

Today was Jayda's home meet. It was fun. We volunteered the other 2 sessions to help out, and Jayda competed in one. I was lucky enough to be the announcer for the day. It was fun...and I had a front row seat all day to all the gymnasts...including Jayda. BEST JOB EVER. Jayda helped display and run scores to the head table. It was fun.

Jayda did well in the meet. She scored the best score she has ever had on the bars! :) She placed 5th in everything except Vault. (which she didn't place). Then she placed 5th all around! She did a great job!

The DC Stars Level 3 Team Placed 1st !!!!!

This was her last competition for the season. Next up is the State competition....we will see if she competes....it may be on Sunday. In that case, we won't.

But it has been a fun season for her and she has done very well for her first year. We will see what next year holds.

Easter

We always have our Easter bunny come on Saturday, to allow him to observe the Sabbath...and to help us remember Easter isn't about candy, but about the Savior. So the kids woke up to their Easter baskets this morning...Jace and Juliet didn't know much of what was going on, but they enjoyed their first suckers today and first candy and they loved it... a little too much.

 
 
 

 

As you can tell, Jace didn't quite make it into clothes today...and poor Juliet had a fever most of the day...probably teeth, so while scarfing down the jelly beans, she wasn't really into it. :(

We had our friends, The Heatons, over for an Easter egg hunt, dinner, and games. It was a fun day and the weather was bearable. The sun was out, but it was a bit windy.

 

We had a fun day and are excited to focus on the Savior tomorrow. Sienna is giving a talk in Primary about Easter tomorrow and she wrote it all by herself. I will be sure to take a picture of her written talk and post it...she did such a good job.

 

I was giving her ideas what to write about and as I was telling her to end her talk about why the Resurrection was important, that is allows everyone to receive a perfect body. We talked about how all our friends and family who have hearing problems, austistic problems, and so many others, will be made whole, the Spirit was so strong. It touched my heart and I felt the pure love of Christ for so many people I know that need it...and who  will be whole one day, I almost teared up. What a blessing it is that Christ was willing to sacrifice himself for us. That we are made up of so much more than just what we are on this earth. We are eternal children of God and can be just as Christ was, resurrected and our bodies perfected. Whether everyone believes that or not is another story, but it doesn't make it less true. The Savior lives. Because He lives, so shall we.  

Not quite Spring

The weather has been a pain, back and forth, cold and then every 20 days or so a nice day. We try to take advantage of the nice days...but there haven't been too many. We are all getting cabin fever around here and need some sun to brighten our days. :) We haven't done much with such crazy weather, but here are few pics of what we have been up to.

Me and Jayda, Halle, & Mia, went to the 1st General Women's Conference of the church together, now that it is for ages 8 and up! 



We realized just how easy it is to make our beloved Cuban Sandwiches....

Baby Kason fell on the corner of the wall...and this was the day of...it turned purple and he had a black eye...wish I would have taken more pics....

We hunted eggs at the town park.....you can guess exactly how that went....

Jace stuck in one of his sister's unmentionables....I wont mentions who's.

Lots of this movie, all the songs, watching, lip singing, watching again...singing without the song, playing on the piano.....we just can't "let it go." Nor do we want to. :) 

 

 

 

Perhaps that is why all the winter weather is sticking around.

 

 

Busy Weekend

Friday, Jayda had her first school social event...that was dance like. Nevermind you, they quoted...."It is not a dance." :) But still...she had fun, and we still got a bit dressed up.

Right after the social, we drove 3 hrs to Elmira, NY for a gymnastics meet Jayda had! She did really well. And we got to eat at some yummy places. :)

 

 

 

It was also conference weekend, so we came home and got to enjoy words from the Prophets!

1 Year old Pictures!

Been trying to take these two's pictures since their first birthday. It isn't easy with 6 other kids trying to "HELP" out if you will! It always isn't helpful and the babies are looking everywhere and/or not cooperating. Here is a few of the pics I have gotten over the last month or 2.....

 

At least they keep them interesting. :) These were the better of several. :) Oh well they are still cute! Jace it apparently a lot easier to get to smile :)

School Carnival

We went to the school carnival today to support the PTO and let the kids have a little fun. :) I didn't take too many pics, because lets face it..I have 8 kids and it is hard to help them play games and take pics, but I got a few. We had a good time. :)

PS The babies graduated to big car seats now :( It is bitter sweet. They can see the tv and out the window now but don't sleep so well :) They like it though. :) Now they can see mom all the time. :) How did they get so big?
