Let the Moving Begin

So this arrived today. This is what all of our belongings will be travelling in to New York!

Stephenville

Today we went to my old stomping ground, Stephenville, Texas. My BFF from 6th grade lives there now and coaches the HS freshman girls basketball team. So we went up to see her. We also go to see some other old friends...Erica (my college friend) and her sweet family, Helen (my old boss from College), and Wes and Jackie, my old "older" :) friends from college. It was fun to see them all before we move away. Kristi's team won something evil like 48 to 15....they killed the other team. Awesome!

After visiting with Helen at the game, Erica and I went to Wes and Jackie's new Go cart racing place they opened. They let us ride around a few times with all the kids. :) It was super fun.

Then we had a yummy dinner at Montana's, a favorite during college. It was fun to see all of them, my only regret was not taking more pictures! (Erica...send me the ones on your phone!!) :)

Fun with Auntie Angie

My sister came to visit for the weekend, so we could play one last time before we move to New York. We had lots of fun. We went to the circus, which turned out to be a blast. The kids loved it and we had great seats. We even road an elephant! We also went and saw the Muppets which was fun too..although not as entertaining for the little ones...but still...popcorn, candy, singing..FUN. :) It was a great weekend. We look forward to many more in a new place!

After Christmas Party

The day after Christmas, we went to New Braunfels to play with Nelson's side of the family. A few of his siblings came down to play so we hung out all week! The kids were so excited to play with their cousins, who they have not seen in over a year and a half. It was a sweet reunion. We just played and ate...and played and ate. :) LOTS of fun! We also went to San Antonio to the River Walk & Alamo. We took a river boat which was really cool, we got on right before dark, so we toured the Riverwalk with all the Christmas lights. Way cool!

Christmas

We had a fabulous Christmas! My dad came down a few days before and we got to have lunch with him, Laura, and Renata. Then later my mom, step-dad, aunt and uncle came to stay for Christmas. We had so much fun with all of them at our house. We played fun games like sniff the broom :), ate lots of yummy food, went and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks, went to church and just enjoyed each other's company. It was a fun holiday. The kids, as usual, got too much stuff and were a little spoiled. That is because they have too many grandparents and an aunt who spoil them. :) Nelson and I have started doing a certain number of gifts. They always get pjs the night before...but our new tradition is to only give them each 3 gifts. A gift of love (something homemade), a gift of Christ (something to do with Jesus), and a gift of fun (something they want). It worked really well this year. I made all the girls cute little hats, and the boys got church quiet books. I really like this idea ( which I got from a friend) and am glad to be able to focus more on the spirit of Christmas and less on buying things. It was a great year. Here are a few pics:

I guess our family will be packing it up and moving to here





come the beginning of February!

We are excited to move to a place we have never lived....and although we have moved a lot in the last 2 1/2 years, we are so grateful for our many blessings. Each move has been a great promotion for Nelson and this one is the one, where we can finally call somewhere home.
So here we come New York! We will be living in the Albany area somewhere...but are excited to live by so much church history, and also United States history. There will certainly be lots to do and many reasons for people to come visit us!

It has been so fun living by both our parents for a couple of years. Something I doubt will ever happen again. We also have made so many friends in Texas we will miss....so it is bitter sweet! But we know we are suppose to be there! So here we go again....hopefully for the last time for a long time!
