Yesterday we drove up to Palmyra, NY to see the Palmyra Pageant and some of the church history sites that belong to our church. We left Thur and went to the rehearsal show which proved to be a great idea, thanks to a friend of mine! It wasn't crowded at all and it was fantastic. We sat on the 4th row! The pageant was a basic overview of the Book Of Mormon...it was amazing! Today we drove around to the homes of Joseph Smith, the sacred grove, Martin Harris' farm, The place the first Book of Mormon was published, and Peter Whitmer's farm, where the first organization of the church took place. It was so great to see all that history and feel the spirit testify of it's truthfulness. As we walked into the sacred grove....you could tell instantly the feeling that changed...it was amazing...we made sure we pointed it out to the kids and hope they will remember at least that feeling if nothing else. It was a fun trip to see the sights. We are going to Nauvoo for a family reunion soon and plan to stop at Kirtland on the way. Since the beginning of our church's history starts in Palmyra, then goes to Kirtland, then Nauvoo...we feel it is a once in a lifetime chance to see the sights in the order the pioneers did.
