Mexico

We went to Mexico! Our 3rd grade always does a night dedicated to one country. Last year, Jayda did China....so this year Halle's grade did Mexico. It was a cute night. They started out dancing the Mexican Hat dance, which was super cute. Then we got a tour of lots of artwork, projects, etc. about Mexico they had done...which were posted all over the school. :) It was a fun opportunity to have Halle has our Mexican tour guide...too bad she didn't give it in Spanish. :)

Sweet Kason turns 2!!!!

My little boy is two! I can't believe it! Two years ago today he was born in Austin, Texas! The only child born in a state all by himself. :)

All day we would say, who's birthday is it? He would raise his hand...then we'd say how old are you? He tried to raise his 2 fingers, but ends up with 4 since he can't hold the last two down! :) So cute! Sometimes, he even had it backwards.

Even though he was excited, he didn't quite get it, but he sure enjoyed the attention all day. Everyone was extra sweet and playful with him today, which he loved! :) He was so cute. Such a cute age to see them grow and figure things out and just see their special little spirits and personalities develop.

I asked him a week ago what he wanted for a birthday cake. Team Umizoomi, Mickey Mouse, Basketball? Twice he answered Basketball...and the other times it was random, so we went with a bball. :) I obviously didn't mind. :)

So we planned a get together with our friends here today...we had Chilean hotdogs, chips and queso, and fruit...to honor the Cinco De Mayo part of the day, then had a bball piñata...yes homemade :)...and cake and icecream. It was a fun day. I think he enjoyed it and we are grateful to have friends to spend our birthdays with.

PS Chilean Hotdogs are what my sister in law taught us they ate in Chile (where she served her mission) It is a hot dog with guacamole, tomatoes, and a stripe of mayo (Helmans) on top. They were a big hit, but I think an even bigger hit was when someone added the queso on top. Goodtimes!

Happy Birthday my little Kason. You are so full of personality and cute little cheeks! Your blue eyes are gorgeous and so full of spirit. You are so tender and kind, and yet will be a big teaser and jokester. It is funny how you can already see it! You love outside, cars, babies, Umizoomi, giggling, balls, your brothers and sisters, and are just a happy little boy! You are so special and such a blessing to have in our family!

The Big Top

Today we went to the circus. Green Meadow Circus that is. Kindergarten put on a little circus for the parents. Although it didn't involve any animals, stunts, or even peanuts..it was still fun!

The kids dressed up as anything to do with a circus...our Sienna chose an acrobat! Cute huh? :)

They sang lots of cute songs, fed us circus snacks (popcorn, animal crackers...guess there were some kind of animals...cupcakes, twizzlers, juice, and oreos).

 Then we got to go down the Kindergarten hall and see tons of wonderful artwork they kids have been working on about the circus. It was so cute. Much fun, cheaper, and less stinky than a real circus. :)

Everyday Life and Soccer

This month has flown right by. We tend to stay home a lot and just be. The babies are getting big and I can't believe they will be 3 months old next week! They are such cuties and are starting to smile and coo.

In other news...our other children are doing great. We have had mostly cold weather, but a few good days of sun.

Today was by far the best day for weather. It was perfect! And it was also Ryder's first soccer game. He was so excited for soccer he slept in his shirt the last two nights. :) He was so cute! He even scored! He is such a boy...and luckily he was born super athletic and with some skills!

 Ryder had so much fun....we can't wait to see how he does in sports as he gets older. Since he loves them all and already knows he is good at everything. :P (He does not have any confidence issues!)
