Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving we spent at my mom's in Broaddus, Texas. It is the 3rd year we have got to go there and it is always fun. Nana decorates the entire house and yard for Christmas, starting on Halloween! So it is well ready to go by Turkey Day. Papa Bill sets up his train and the house is immaculate...ready for our circus to come in and destroy it. :) This year, as usual, we had my Aunt and Uncle, and Cousin Christie and her family come over for a yummy dinner. We had our annual hay ride and just hung out. It was a fun Thanksgiving! Papa Bill made us some signs on the way to their house. :) So cute!

An attempt

Well, we tried.....in the end, my hair will always look flat and blah unless I have some nice highlights, and one of the kids will not be smiling...it is just a fact of life. So here we are:

6 Months

Where does the time go? I can't believe this little blue eyed cutie is mine, and I definitely can't believe he is already 6 months old. He will be a big heartbreaker with those baby blues! Happy Half-Birthday little man!

My Little Smarties

All the girls got awards for the A Honor Roll today during their school assembly. :) They are all great students, good readers, and little smartie pants. Unfortunatley I didn't bring proper batteries, so I didn't get great pics! :( But you get the idea. :)

Happy Halloween!

What a happy Halloween we had! We invited some friends over to eat and play with us and they were all such good sports! Everyone brought a soup to share, which they were all delicious.....and we had some treats, punch, and even breadsticks made into the shape of bones. My friend Shawna brought her super punch bowl...


which the kids loved...they didn't care what was in it, they just loved it. They would have drank dirty water out of it if it was coming out of its eyes! They didn't even touch the other juice...which by the way I put a frozen 'hand' in for a fun Halloween effect....but unfortunately, it's fingers melted right off within 10 seconds.....have to think that one out a little better next time!



After we ate, we played a couple of our favorite Halloween game. First up, "Wrap the Mummy."




Then we played the Doughnut race game...which even some adults got in on the action! :)



Finally we ended the night by going trick or treating in our neighborhood together and it was so much fun. The weather was amazing and the kids had so much fun trick or treating with their friends. (Nelson and I did too!) :)



We have really missed having Halloween with our family in Utah since we moved to Texas...so it was nice to celebrate with some friends. We had a great Halloween and hope everyone else did too!

Go Rangers!

As we are all Ranger fans.....we are of course rooting for them.....but no fear...once upon a time I was a Cardinal fan....only when Mark McGuire played for them...but now...as Texans...we root for the Rangers. Ryder, who loves anything baseball, or who turns anything into a baseball and bat....was loving watching it. He got out his own bat and pretended to hit the ball when they did....such a cute boy. Perhaps he will be on the tv playing one day. :)

Trunk or Treat

More Halloween pics to come on Halloween...but here is us trunk or treating at church...
Jayda is a "southern bell", although everyone said she looked like Scarlet from Gone with the Wind...same thing I guess. Halle is a cheerleader (her dream :), Mia is a witch, Sienna is little red riding hood, Ryder is Diego (notice the black hair-Nelson and I had to keep double taking and looking at him because he didn't look like our kid! :), and Kason is Mickey Mouse. Nelson and I just threw together whatever....I actually look more like a Halloween Fairy, but you can't see my orange and black tights or my black wings that blend in with the car. :) (Jessie and Woody are actually Jessie and Mark, who are Nelson's 3rd cousins...her maiden name is Cluff...and by the way...she totally made those costumes!)

Pumpkin Decorating

Per our usual, and my laziness, we have developed quite the tradition of painting pumpkins instead of carving. :) (Thanks Maile) :) The kids love it. Here's a pic of all the fun. :)
