Kason's Blessing

We blessed Kason in College Station this weekend, since Chris and Benson were down visiting. (2 of Nelson's brothers) Sadly, this is the best picture and one of only a few I took....but I am going to dress Kason up this week and take some more. (I planned to take more after church, but he accidentally peed on his outfit at church...so that didn't work out!)

Graduation and Honors

Today was a big day for all the girls. It was graduation from Kindergarten for Mia, and honor assemblies for Jayda and Halle.

We started the day off at Mia's graduation. The Kindergarteners sang two songs and then just like High School, walked across the stage, shook someone's hand and got their diploma! :) It was a cute ceremony. They didn't have any awards for the Kindergarten, but Mia's class gave out awards and she got the Best Reader and Most Friendly. Go figure. :) We were very proud of her! Congratulations Mia.

Halle's honor assembly was next and she got lots of awards. She got A Honor Roll, Prinicipal's award, & great attendance. Great Job Hal!

Jayda got A Honor Roll, Great attendance, Citizenship Award, and a Reading award. Jayda's Reading award was amazing. The Librarian recognizes the top readers in the entire 2nd grade for their achievements all year. Jayda just moved to this school two months ago and got 2nd place for the whole year! Another girl in her class got 1st place. She loves to read and did such a good job! That's our smartie pants Jayda.

Jayda's Field Day

Today was Jayda's field day at school. She had a lot more activities and races on the track than the younger girls, but unfortunately, I couldn't watch her very long. I had to take some friends to the airport, so I only go to see her run the 300m race. She got 2nd place! She did really good in some other events too! So proud of her.

Kindergarten & 1st Grade Field Day

It's the last week of school, hard to believe. This week we will be spending lots of time at school for all the field days, Kindergarten Graduation, Honor Assemblies...then poof, thank goodness, it will be over and hopefully we can sleep past 6:30am. :)

Ryder's "Actual" Birthday

Today was Ryder's 2nd birthday! We celebrated it last week in College Station, but we still had a little "fiesta" here today. My sister sent us a Party in a box for Cinco de Mayo, when Kason was born, but it didn't get here in time, so we made Ryder's bday a fiesta! He grabbed the marracas and was running around the house saying "fiesta, fiesta!" It was so cute...for a kid who doesn't talk much! We wondered where he learned that word from...but it is no surprise...Dora! He watches it non stop.....he is obsessed...so in a way, it was fitting to have a fiesta for his bday. :) He barely says anything...he can, but he won't. But he sure talks to Dora when she is on....we believe he only speaks Spanish...

We had fun with all the accessories that came in the "box" and although we laughed our heads off...Ryder didn't think it was all that funny. :) It was fun! :)

Ryder's Early Birthday

Ryder will turn 2 on May 20th....where does the time go? We celebrated his birthday this weekend though since we had two of the three sets of grandparents together...and it wouldn't work out on his actual birthday. We went to College Station to meet my step dad and hand my mom off....also Chris and Jane (Nelson's brother and his wife) were down and we wanted to see them. Ryder was so funny opening his presents...he is now old enough to do it himself and this was the first time he really understood and it was so cute. He loved all of his toys he got...except not the cute pjs from mom. :) They weren't as fun so he took them out of the bag and threw them on the ground...oh well...they are super cute on. :) We had a fun time and it was so good to see Chris before he goes off to school for a few months. We will see more of Jane, because she is staying at Pam's, so that is exciting too. He had a great birthday. I usually have a hard time celebrating birthdays not on the day....I don't know why, but it feels wierd...but it was okay. We will still do something fun on his actual birthday, May 20th. I won't be making another cake though! :)
