Ryder's Bday

My little boy (the first ever :) is 4 today. I can hardly believe how fast time flies. A lot has happened since he was born. We have moved several times and even lived in three states. :) But his little spirit in our family has been so wonderful! He is so calm and peaceful and laid back. He always has been. He is a happy smiling little guy! I couldn't imagine our family without him. He is a great brother (big and little) and so much fun. He is all boy...ball, trucks, and trains...he loves everything sports and already knows he is great at them all! :) We love him dearly! Today we kind of spoiled him. Jayda had morning announcements again at school so we went and watched that....but stopped for a doughnut on the way home. :) Then we had lunch at McDs ( yes not the healthiest day) but we had some shopping to do and some presents to get at Walmart so we got lunch on the way. He really wanted a pool from Walmart, so that is what he got. :) Since we are having a party on Friday (Auntie Angie will be here) today we just had a family dinner at his place of choosing...Applebee's. (Because they bring you cake). :) We let him open his gifts from Grandpa Martinez, Nana, and us. He had a fun day! :)

Princess Party & Father and Sons

Every year our church has a Father and Sons campout to commemorate when the Priesthood of God was restored to the Earth. So the men go be "men" and campout! We stay behind and have a princess party...which we stared a few years ago. :) It is always fun and girly and well, Princessy!
This year the girls each invited a friend over, as did I. We wear tiaras and candies bracelets of course! This year we cut out and decorated sugar cookies in the shape of a glass slipper, a tiara, and a castle. We ate pizza and other yummy foods....we painted nails and watched a Princess movies. (This year it was "Princess Protection Program").

We had a fun time!

Mexico

We went to Mexico! Our 3rd grade always does a night dedicated to one country. Last year, Jayda did China....so this year Halle's grade did Mexico. It was a cute night. They started out dancing the Mexican Hat dance, which was super cute. Then we got a tour of lots of artwork, projects, etc. about Mexico they had done...which were posted all over the school. :) It was a fun opportunity to have Halle has our Mexican tour guide...too bad she didn't give it in Spanish. :)

Sweet Kason turns 2!!!!

My little boy is two! I can't believe it! Two years ago today he was born in Austin, Texas! The only child born in a state all by himself. :)

All day we would say, who's birthday is it? He would raise his hand...then we'd say how old are you? He tried to raise his 2 fingers, but ends up with 4 since he can't hold the last two down! :) So cute! Sometimes, he even had it backwards.

Even though he was excited, he didn't quite get it, but he sure enjoyed the attention all day. Everyone was extra sweet and playful with him today, which he loved! :) He was so cute. Such a cute age to see them grow and figure things out and just see their special little spirits and personalities develop.

I asked him a week ago what he wanted for a birthday cake. Team Umizoomi, Mickey Mouse, Basketball? Twice he answered Basketball...and the other times it was random, so we went with a bball. :) I obviously didn't mind. :)

So we planned a get together with our friends here today...we had Chilean hotdogs, chips and queso, and fruit...to honor the Cinco De Mayo part of the day, then had a bball piñata...yes homemade :)...and cake and icecream. It was a fun day. I think he enjoyed it and we are grateful to have friends to spend our birthdays with.

PS Chilean Hotdogs are what my sister in law taught us they ate in Chile (where she served her mission) It is a hot dog with guacamole, tomatoes, and a stripe of mayo (Helmans) on top. They were a big hit, but I think an even bigger hit was when someone added the queso on top. Goodtimes!

Happy Birthday my little Kason. You are so full of personality and cute little cheeks! Your blue eyes are gorgeous and so full of spirit. You are so tender and kind, and yet will be a big teaser and jokester. It is funny how you can already see it! You love outside, cars, babies, Umizoomi, giggling, balls, your brothers and sisters, and are just a happy little boy! You are so special and such a blessing to have in our family!
